This learning activity is provided by the Nephrology Nursing Certification Commission (NNCC) to help participants obtain knowledge and competency concerning water treatment for dialysis.
At the conclusion of the activity, the learner will be able to:
Identify the components of the dialysis water system including their purposes, monitoring requirements, and patient safety considerations.
Explain how water-related clinical problems occur, are identified, and can be prevented.
Discuss the elements of the CMS water survey that ensure compliance with safety.
ACHIEVE:
NNCC competency contact hours: a certificate for 4 competency contact hours will be awarded at the successful completion of the program. These hours can be used for initial certification or renewal of certification of any NNCC credential, e.g., CCHT, CNN, CDN, etc.
FORMAT:
